Rate chains is a way to have several BAR levels available for the same date and the final level that is selected will be the lowest rate that meet the conditions set on the level.
For example if you have you base BAR level and a lower level for reservations that are longer then 5 days the lower rate will be selected if someone makes a reservation for more then 5 days and for all shorter reservations the base rate will be selected.
1. In 'Units & Rates>Rate Mangement' you will find the 'Rate Chain' icon at the top bar.
2. Here you can view and edit all your rate chain levels.
The prices of a Rate chain level can be defined as fixed rate, +-fixed dicount and +-percentage dicount.
Click the price of a room category to edit the price.
To add a new Rate Chain level click the '+' icon in top right corner.
3. Fill in fields of the rate plan:
Rate plan name: fill in name of the rate plan.
Rate plan level: with this field it is possible to build a hierachy of rate levels. If 'Rate plan level' is set to 1 the rate will base their prices on current BAR rate and only one 'Rate plan level' of the same level can be a applied at a time. If you set 'Rate plan level' 2 this level will be added on top of the 'Rate plan' 1 levels.
For example:
If Rate Plan Longstay: -10% has level 1 condition book more the 30 days, and Rate Plan Early bird: -5% has level 1 condition min pick up 30 days.
If a guest books both more the 30 days and more the 30 days in advance the guest will only get -10% of the Longstay Rate plan.
If Rate Plan Longstay: has level 1 and Rate Plan Early bird: has level 2.
If a guest books both more the 30 days and more the 30 days in advance the guest will get first -10% from the Longstay Rate plan and then an additional -5% from the Early bird rate plan.
Rateable interval preset: (optional fields) visible only if you have rateable interval presets configured in your system, they are typically used for conference bookings or longstay bookings. Here you can select for example configure that booking a conference room half day should cost a spefic price.
Stay from-Stay to: (optional fields) The level is only available for reservations that stays in this date interval.
Active from -Active to: (optional fields) The level is only available for reservations booked in this date interval.
Weekdays: (optional fields) The level is only available for reservations staying the selected weekdays.
Adult/Child count: (optional fields) The level is only available for specific number of guests booking it.
Min/Max stay length: (optional fields) The level is only available for reservation of a certain length.
Min/Max pick up: (optional fields) The level is only available when booking a certain number of days before arrival.
Min/Max Occupancy: (optional fields) The level is only available when the total percentage occupany of the hotel meets the conditons.
And click 'Done'.
4. Fill in the rates of the New Rate Chain level and 'Save' to add the new level. This level will immedatly be active for all new bookings that meet the conditions that were set up when creating the 'Rate level'.
5. In 'Rate Management' click the 'view' icon to see all Rate Levels that are available for the selected dates.
