1a. In the reservation where you want to create a payment, click 'Add Payment' button.

1b. Or click the amount next to a room in reservation view.

1c. Or from 'Arrival list' click the amount in the 'Balance' or 'Room Balance' column.

2. Payment view will open, with the following fields:

Type: will be 'Payment' if you create a payment.

Pay for: will be 'RESERVATION' by default. 

If you started the payment by 'Add payment' button or 'Balance' in Arrival list all items in the reservation will be included in the payment from start.

If you started the payment by clicking room amount in the reservation or clicking 'Room Balance' in Arrival list all items added to the selected room will be included in the payment from start.

To edit which items to include in the payment click the 'pen' icon.

Amount: The amount of the selected items, to change amount click the pen icon after the 'Pay for>RESERVATION' field and change items you want to pay for. (If you change the amount field it means that you partly pay something, so for most payments the amount field should not be changed).

Payment method: select payment method, for manual payments a mandatory 'reference' field will appear.

For example if Nitesoft cashier is connected, the payment will automatically get the payment reference from the cashier (it's the same for online providers, the payments will get the reference from the provider).

But if you have a cashier that is not connected directly to Nitesoft you need to manually fill in the receipt number from the cashier.

Date: default today.

Payer: default the person who made the reservation, you can click the 'pen' icon if you want to change payer info.

Reason/comment: optional, will be a note on the receipt.

3. Click 'Save' to create the payment.

4. The balance of the reservation will change. You can see your payment beneath the summary table in the reservation, if you click the pdf-icon you can view and print receipt, or you can configure a mail-template to be able to mail reciept to customer.
