Allotment is a special type of offer that ensures that given number of units of different categories are available for booking with the allotment code. The number of units covered with the allotment is blocked for booking without the allotment code. There are two ways to reserve room for allotment: define stay period withing which reservations can be made with the allotment and define sliding window moving forward every day. There are period reservations and sliding reservations that corresponds to the way of room reservation.
Period Reservations
For instance, today is 2020-12-20 and the property gets request to host a wedding. The wedding will take place between 2021-05-20 and 2021-05-22. The property can provide an allotment with period reservations from 2021-05-20 to 2021-05-22. So that a number of rooms will be reserved for the specified dates for the allotment code. Every guest will be able to use the allotment code to book a room within this allotment.
Sliding Reservations
For instance, the property get request from Microsoft corporation which is building an office in the property's city. They would like to have ability to accommodate up to 10 employees at any time with a 5 days notice. The property can provide an allotment with sliding reservations releasing 5 days in the future. So that 10 units will be reserved for the allotment all time in the future except the 5 nearest days. Microsoft will be able to use the allotment code to book up to 10 guaranteed rooms more than 5 days in the future.
